Stop Embed Theft: Domain Lock + White-Label Player
Your videos play only where you allow them to. Even if a third party copies the embed code, it won't run on their domain. White-label mode removes Vidora branding so the player carries your brand identity.
What is domain lock?
A brand's e-commerce video can be lifted by competitors, blogs, or aggregator sites — embed code copied and run elsewhere. Content rights are violated and bandwidth costs subsidize the thief's traffic. Vidora's **domain lock** validates HTTP Referer and Origin headers on every play attempt; allowed domains (your site, partner sites, staging) are whitelisted, others are rejected with a 'This video is not allowed on this site' message. Configuration is panel-based; per plan you whitelist 1, 3, 10, or unlimited domains, with wildcard (`*.brand.com`) and subdomain support.
How do you set up domain lock?
- 1
From the Vidora panel, go to 'Domains' and add the domains you want to allow (e.g. `brand.com`, `*.brand.com`, `brand.com.tr`).
- 2
Verify ownership via DNS (TXT record) or HTTP (`/.well-known/vidora-domain-token` endpoint) — one-time.
- 3
Approved domains get embed codes; every playback validates Referer + Origin.
- 4
Unauthorized embed attempts: the player blocks playback with a clear message; the panel raises an alert.
- 5
When white-label is enabled: the Vidora logo is hidden, replaced with your custom brand colors and logo.
Who needs domain lock + white label?
For brands where identity matters and content protection is required, this isn't a 'nice to have' — it's the way to protect your content investment.
A premium furniture brand produced 360° interactive videos for 200+ products — high production cost. Months later, an aggregator site started embedding those videos on its own pages: traffic to them, bandwidth bill to the brand. The brand enabled domain lock; videos on the unauthorized site stopped playing with a clear 'not allowed on this site' message. White-label mode also removed Vidora branding — the brand kept presenting a polished, fully on-brand player on its own pages.
Frequently asked questions about domain lock + white label
Are wildcard domains supported?
+
Yes. `*.brand.com` whitelists all subdomains (cdn.brand.com, blog.brand.com, m.brand.com, etc.) in one entry. DNS verification runs only on the root domain.
Can it be bypassed?
+
Referer + Origin validation is browser-level security; it stops 100% of casual copying. A sophisticated attacker (proxy, server-side request) can be blocked only with signed URL + token rotation (premium tier). Domain lock alone covers 95%+ of embed theft scenarios.
Is Vidora branding fully invisible in white-label mode?
+
Vidora logo / branding is removed from the player UI. Technical headers (X-Powered-By, etc.) carry no Vidora marker. Network panel deep inspection might still reveal CDN URLs; Enterprise-tier custom CDN domain (videos.brand.com) hides those too.
How many domains can I whitelist?
+
Per plan: 1 (Free / Starter), 3 (Growth), 10 (Pro), 1000+ (Enterprise) domains. Wildcards count as a single domain. For larger needs, contact our Enterprise sales team.
Does it work from staging / localhost?
+
Yes. Add `localhost`, `*.local`, `*.test`, `*.staging.brand.com`, etc. to the whitelist. You can fully test in staging before promoting to production.
